Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 449), "A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing." That "a grain of Christian Science does wonders" indeed was proved to me when the first glimpse I caught of God's will, as explained in Christian Science, healed me overnight of a severe nervous condition which had persisted for two years and which had been recurring since childhood. This healing took place more than thirty years ago, and the wonderful sense of freedom it brought still remains.
Many physical healings have taken place in my experience; some were instantaneous. One outstanding healing was that of painful growths on the soles of the feet. Help in Christian Science was asked for, and the pain stopped instantly. A few days later the growths dropped away. Other healings in the home have been those of a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis, anemia, and an internal trouble which ordinarily would have required a surgical operation. Instantaneous healings of chill, inflammation, measles, and colds have been experienced. Most of these healings came through the work of a practitioner.
I shall never cease to be grateful to the practitioner who helped and guided me when I first took up the study of Christian Science. Her wisdom in turning me to Principle, her spiritual love and understanding of my need, and her quiet conviction of the truth in the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's works sustained me through dark day's.
