Testimonies of Healing

In Psalms (40:5) we read, "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered." Indeed, the blessings I have received through Christian Science are more than can be numbered.

My first healing stands as a beacon light and proof of God's promise. Although I knew nothing of Christian Science at that time, seeds of Truth were being sown in my receptive thought through my sister, who had just begun the study of this Science; so when a dreaded malady struck, I asked for Christian Science treatment. A doctor had been called by the family, but he offered only hypodermics to alleviate the suffering. In a semiconscious state I heard my mother tell the family that I was not expected to live.

Even though I preferred death as a release from the suffering, I responded to the truths of Christian Science. Because I claimed dominion over the sickness during a spasm of excruciating pain, my family thought that I was muttering in a delirium: but proof of healing came within a short time, thanks to the clear understanding and firm stand taken by the loyal practitioner who was helping me.
