From the July 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A meeting in the interest of branch church progress, entitled "Christian Science and the World Today," took place in Boston, Massachusetts, on the Tuesday evening following the 1954 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church. The complete report recorded on tape will be available to branches of The Mother Church in all countries for presentation at a meeting of members. French and German translations of the entire meeting, in manuscript form, with necessary instructions, are also available. These meetings are only for members of The Mother Church and/or its branches.

The presentation of a tape recording is simple, satisfactory, and inexpensive. No charge is made for use of the tapes, and a small church owning its own recording machine, or able to borrow one, can sometimes hold a meeting with little or no expense. Often several neighboring churches prefer to unite and present the recording jointly.

Portable tape-recording machines are available in all countries and can be rented from tape-recording equipment dealers, radio supply shops, broadcasting stations, and in some instances can be borrowed from private individuals. A late model machine in good repair which operates at a speed of 7½ inches a second and takes a plastic reel 7 inches in diameter is required, as well as the services of an experienced individual to operate it.
