While yet I tabernacle here with men,
Oh, let me know the precious Christly touch
Of him who walked in Galilee. If then
I chance to see love needed very much,
I shall have sources inexhaustible
Of healing joy and power from which to draw.
And need not feel myself responsible
For Love's unique fulfillment of its law.
I shall have learned by tried and proven ways
Truth still rewards as when the Master taught
In parables and signs those ancient days
And sweet assurances of good were wrought.
The gentle Christ confirms the works today
Of those who tread with grace the Master's way.
