Through this testimony I wish to express an ever-increasing sense of love and gratitude to God for His goodness, to Christ Jesus for his demonstration and teaching of God's allness and loving care for His creation, and to Mary Baker Eddy for her consecrated life and works, through which she presented to the world the demonstrable Science of Christianity.
Christian Science came to our family when I was very young. Through the loving thoughtfulness of an aunt, who mailed copies of the Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel to us, my mother became interested in its teachings and obtained the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. She discovered that she could heal herself and her family by studying and applying the truths stated in this book.
One of the earliest healings which I remember occurred when I was about four years of age. For some time f had suffered from pain in my stomach at night after going to bed. My mother took me on her lap each evening and read aloud to me from Science and Health. As I listened, the pain would subside and I would fall asleep. After a few evenings the problem was entirely overcome, and it never returned.
