"BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS"

From the May 1955 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Through the study of Christian Science we become aware of our true status as spiritual sons and daughters of God and know that we are now in reality perfect, spiritual, immortal. We awaken, therefore, to learn that mortal mind and mortal existence are not of God's creating and thus are wholly untrue and unreal. It is of greatest import that we reach the point of spiritual growth wherein we understand God and His creation as perfect and know that this perfection is an established fact. At this point of our awakened thought we must needs throw off false concepts concerning man.

Through further spiritual reasoning and divine revelation we begin to comprehend that man exists as individualized spiritual consciousness, the reflection of the divine consciousness, or God. Man is therefore a perfect idea in Mind. It is this Mind which holds intact his identity. The realm of God, being perfect or Godlike, can contain no opposing element which could possibly assail or tear down the man of God's creating.

There is a law of God, a law of adhesion, cohesion, and attraction, which binds or cements the relationship of man with his Maker in perfect unity. This oneness, or unity, of man with God is as true of man today as when the Master, Christ Jesus, affirmed concerning himself (John 10:30), "I and my Father are one." The nature, essence, and wholeness of man constitute his completeness, which includes not only what man is, but also the office of man, namely, that of expressing his individuality as well as his identity as God's reflection.
