GOD'S HOLY DAY

From the June 1955 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In spite of the Psalmist's declaration (Ps. 118:24), "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it," many find it difficult to rise above the dull monotony of daily tasks and to be joyous.

Through Christian Science, however, we learn the way to demonstrate the joy of God's holy day. This Science teaches the scientific, hence practical, nature of the truth taught in the Bible that man lives, moves, and has his being in God. Christian Science reveals that since nothing can interfere with the harmonious action of Mind, nothing can touch the harmonious action of man, Mind's idea. Man lives in eternal Life and is never touched by beliefs of death. He lives in Spirit and is never touched by beliefs of the flesh. Man is active, tireless, humbly resting in Love's constant care of him. These truths, of course, pertain to the man of God's creating, not to the counterfeit or mortal, which is a false sense and must be put off, as the Bible declares.

In the proportion that we recognize ourselves as ideas of divine Life, not corporeal but incorporeal, not inactive but active, not mortal but immortal, we can disprove the limitations and heaviness of so-called mortal mind.
