It has been more than nine years since my previous testimony appeared in the Journal. Those years have been full of blessings for my family and me.
Over forty-five years ago I asked a Christian Science practitioner to work for our five-year-old daughter, who was ill with pneumonia. The practitioner quoted the words (I John 4:16), "God is love," and then she said, "Hold that in your thought." I did, and the child was healed in one treatment.
From time to time my brother and his wife, who live in another state, have asked me for Christian Science treatment, and our prayers have always been answered. The playing and singing of Mrs. Eddy's hymns have had an important part in these healings. During a flood in their city my brother and his wife were divinely protected. I turned to the book of Genesis and read the account of Noah's experience, and of how he found safety in the ark. Then I turned to the spiritual meaning of "ark" given on page 581 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It reads in part, "Safety; the idea, or reflection, of Truth, proved to be as immortal as its Principle." When the flood was over, they were overjoyed to find that they had suffered very little damage.
