Christian Science brings comfort to mankind by assuring them that every problem has a full solution, that every true prayer has its answer, and that every right desire is granted.
It may be asked: "How can the many problems still unsolved in human experience be accounted for? Why do our prayers sometimes seem to go unanswered? Is a right desire bound to be granted?" A clue to the answer to these questions is furnished in Shakespeare's "Antony and Cleopatra" in the wise comment made by Menecrates to the flamboyant Pompey:
We, ignorant of ourselves,
Beg often our own harms, which the wise powers
Deny us for our good; so find we profit
By losing of our prayers.
