I have received so much help and inspiration from the testimonies published in our periodicals that I wish to testify to the healing and redeeming power of Christian Science, in the hope that it may help others.
Christian Science was first presented to me by a student of this Science whom I met on holiday and who had been healed of rheumatism. I had been in bondage to this complaint since childhood, and I had also suffered from sciatica for years. When told that Christian Science would heal all manner of diseases, I was not very impressed, as physical healing was not in the forefront of my thought. I was, however, earnestly seeking the truth. Having left the orthodox church to which I formerly belonged, I was looking for a practical religion.
I was persuaded to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and within a short space of time I was healed of both rheumatism and sciatica simply through reading this textbook. These healings took place more than twenty-five years ago, and they have been complete and permanent. They proved to be the turning point in my life. Immediately I put aside the material remedies I had been taking and have never used them since. I then had the desire to join a branch church, and I was healed of the smoking habit of many years' standing.
