My gratitude for Christian Science grows daily as I see it accomplish its mission of bringing heaven to our consciousness now. Our two-year-old daughter was beautifully and quickly cared for through Christian Science treatment after what appeared to be a serious accident. With some other children she was watching a saddle horse which was tied in the yard. Before anyone could stop her she had scampered under the horse, startled him, and been trampled upon. My husband brought her into the house, calling to me as he came that she was not breathing.
"She will be all right," I answered, and she stirred and took a breath. In a moment she regained consciousness. I called a Christian Science practitioner and asked for help. The practitioner said: "She is spiritual and cannot be touched by matter. You must all hold to that."
My husband went out to reassure the other children. As I sat holding the little girl, her breathing, which had been strange and labored, became more normal. The thought came to me that if I really knew she was spiritual, I need not hold her, but could loose her and let her go, as Jesus commanded those at the tomb of Lazarus, when he raised him from the dead. I still did not examine her body, but took her outside and put her down so she might join the other children in play. This she did.
