It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I give this testimony. My parents turned to the beautiful religion of Christian Science for the healing of my twin sister and me when we were babies. Materia medica had done all it could, but we still were weak and frail. Help was asked of and lovingly given by a Christian Science practitioner, and we were completely healed. We were then enrolled in the Sunday School, where the simple truths of the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy were taught and where a firm foundation of Truth was laid.
Upon entering the business world, I listened to suggestions that there were pleasures to be had which were not in accordance with the teachings of Christian Science, and for a period I wandered in a maze of materiality. After I married and had a daughter I was forced through the inadequacy of material means to turn again to Christian Science for the healing of the child.
The surgeon was treating her medically for an infected throat, preparatory to removing her tonsils. It was at this point that I decided to turn back to Christian Science. The little girl was only three years old at the time, and I said to her, "Darling, we are going to throw away all this medicine and turn to God."
