Poems

Persuaded

From the January 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

He said, "I have found Truth." And his friends asked him: "Where
is it then? In the Word?"
And he answered them: "Yes. In the silence of prayer
I have heard. I have heard."

"But how can you know you heard Truth or, instead,
idle words in a dream?"
"I can tell by the works I have witnessed," he said.
"I have seen. I have seen."

"But to hear and to see may not be to know.
Have you proof it is real?"
"The peace that I have in my heart tells me so;
I can feel. I can feel."
