It was an important turning point in my life when I asked for help in Christian Science. I was suffering intense pain from an ear difficulty for which I had received no help from a specialist. In my extremity, I asked for help from a neighbor who was a Christian Scientist. I was healed overnight and awakened the following morning with a great sense of joy and freedom.
At once I went to the telephone to express gratitude to the neighbor who had known the truth so clearly. I was profoundly impressed, not only with the relief from pain, but with the change in my thinking: the sense of joyous awakening to a new and different thought.
Accordingly, I took up the study of Christian Science in earnest, read the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and began to attend a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Eventually I became a member of that church and later had a share in the glorious experience of church building and dedication.
