Early in my study of Christian Science, before I had become a member of The Mother Church or a branch church, I experienced acute choking and strangling in my throat. I began declaring truths that I knew at the time. However, the situation grew worse, and I became quite fearful.
The thought came to me that I needed a material remedy. Upon obtaining it, I returned to my room and placed it next to the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, which I was reading. Then forcefully the angelic message came to me: "You shall be honest about this. You shall take only that which you need!" Immediately the congestion dissolved, and my breathing became normal. The material remedy was thrown out.
As I pondered this demonstration of Truth, I saw that God is All and that there is no real cause or effect in matter. I was very grateful for the peace that followed and for the establishing of my complete reliance on God for physical healing. This unfoldment opened the way for me to become a member of The Mother Church and a branch church.
