THE BASIS OF SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT

From the September 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The student of Christian Science learns that true employment means more than daily activity in business, however successful and continuous his work may be. He learns that real and uninterrupted employment is the consistent and joyous demonstration of man's true selfhood as the son of God. Such employment is based on the recognition that God is divine Mind or divine Principle, the one and only cause. It is founded on the understanding that this perfect cause governs, directs, and fulfills in every one of its creations — its pure ideas — its unerring and perfect purpose.

In the perfect Mind and its creation of purposeful, active, spiritual ideas there is no overaction or reaction; never a depression or a recession; there is no lack or loss of resources, or of opportunities to serve. The universe of God, or Spirit, is forever complete, forever at hand, forever fulfilling divine purpose, and all good is constantly available to all of God's ideas.

As human thought is brought into agreement with these and other spiritually scientific facts of existence, the individual finds his right place in society. He is led into paths of employment which are profitable, joyous, progressive, and secure.
