I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy with the desire to help our son, who was in ill-health. I was reading the chapter on Christian Science Practice, and when I got to the allegorical trial, I became so absorbed in it that I forgot all about time and read into the early hours of the morning. As a result of this reading, I had an instantaneous and permanent healing of headaches, from which I had suffered since I was a child at school.
I should like to tell how the truths we learned in Christian Science fitted our son for work in the business world. Owing to illness, he had had very little schooling; and when he was able to attend school, he was so far behind with his lessons that he was unable to make much progress. He attended night school, but because there was no class in horology, which was the occupation he wished to follow, his teacher told him he should go to a technical college.
Our son did not see how he could do this, because he thought he would have to take an entrance examination which he felt it would be impossible for him to pass. Knowing, however, that all things are possible with God, I applied for the necessary forms. Our son completed them and was accepted as a pupil without any trouble. He then began to attend the college.
