Over fifty years ago Christian Science came into my family through the instantaneous healing of one member. Gradually each member became interested and received many blessings. There were numerous physical healings, including those of chronic stomach trouble, pneumonia, rheumatism, and heart disease. A distant relative was instantaneously healed of tuberculosis and lived after that for more than forty years. Lack and sorrow were also overcome.
In my own experience, the first time I read Science and Health, I was healed of chronic tonsillitis and quinsy, for which I had undergone several operations and much medical treatment, but without relief. Since then Christian Science has sustained me, and I have not taken a drop of medicine in all that time. This is quite remarkable, for we were strongly educated to believe in disease, medicine, and doctoring.
The following healing is shared, particularly because the condition is sometimes obstinate and because the way it was worked out might be helpful to others. From early childhood I was afflicted with frequent violent headaches, lasting for several days. I had seen both parents suffer from this difficulty; so it seemed that this belief stemmed from a hereditary cause. The attacks became more excruciating and almost unbearable. A firm conviction had been established that they were a part of me.
