"THE LORD SHALL BE THY CONFIDENCE"

From the June 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

MOST people have an earnest desire to act and to feel poised and confident. To mankind, however, confidence is generally something which is obtained only after years of experience and education.

To those who long to gain confidence, Christian Science brings this heartening message: God, Spirit, made man complete. This man, the real selfhood of each of us, is spiritual, reflecting such Godlike qualities as certainty, fearlessness, assurance.

True confidence results from clear thinking in regard to the unlimited capabilities of man in God's likeness. It is a positive recognition that there is no condition in which the unerring direction of God is not available. One who understands himself in Science as the spiritual expression of Spirit becomes decisive, fearless, resolute, and hopeful in all his activities. He finds no reason to fear a new situation, because with this spiritual understanding of man he can welcome each new challenge as an opportunity to express the qualities of God, Truth.
