In one of her poems Mary Baker Eddy, our Leader, writes (Poems, p. 4),
Wait, and love more for every hate, and fear
No ill,—since God is good, and loss is gain.
When I first came to Christian Science I quickly accepted the fact that "God is good"; to understand why "loss is gain" took some time. But although I did not realize it then, my first demonstration in Science proved the truth of these words, and often since has their truth been confirmed in my experience.
