With willing hands the building work began.
But not alone of stone or wood.
This church was built of Spirit's own—
Of joy, and faith, and gratitude.
For, as within each heart
The concept of true Church was born anew
On cornerstone of purity,
The outward church came into view.
The walls arose through unselfed love
Which flowed from all the loyal band.
No earthly element could stay
The work which God had planned.
And when the structure stood complete,
A greater measure of the Christ had come
To all—an understanding of
God's holy Church—our Christly home.
