"These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." This passage from Revelation (7: 14) may well be applied to a vast number of people, including myself, who have found deliverance from difficulties, both physical and mental, through the teachings of Christian Science.
Failing to find healing of a chronic stomach ailment after several years of medical treatment and deeply discouraged, a member of my family decided to ask help of a Christian Science practitioner. The healing was immediate. At this time, in 1926, the entire family began to rely on Christian Science, and in the years since then, we have experienced many blessings.
One member was healed instantly of the smoking habit of thirty-five years' duration. A son was healed of chronic ear trouble. This healing was accomplished by my reading to him from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. He was also healed, with the help of a practitioner, of a broken bone in one of his hands. Another son was wonderfully protected when he touched an electric heater while he was in a bathtub filled with water. He was thrown the length of the tub, but suffered no ill effects; thus was proved the truth of the statement in Science and Health (p. 97), "According to human belief, the lightning is fierce and the electric current swift, yet in Christian Science the flight of one and the blow of the other will become harmless."
