The first part of the definition of "Church" in the Glossary of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy reads: "The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle" (p. 583). From this definition it is apparent that everything included in the true concept of supply is embraced in the spiritual structure of Church.
This structure is not, of course, a material edifice. It represents a state of consciousness—the consciousness of Truth and Love. These are two of the seven synonyms for God, given by Mrs. Eddy on page 465 of Science and Health. The spiritual structure which is Church must also include the consciousness of Mind, Principle, Life, Spirit, and Soul, the other synonyms for God.
We have an object lesson in the Bible, from which we may learn of the structure of Mind. It is the story of Moses and the burning bush, found in the third chapter of Exodus. The bush, we are told, burned but was not consumed. Moses' forty years in the desert had led him to a point of perception where the indestructibility of spiritual ideas could be revealed to him. On this ground he could commune with God and receive Mind's revelation of its eternal self-existence. The Bible reads, "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM."
