I had my first healing in Christian Science over forty-five years ago. At the time I knew almost nothing about Science, having attended only one Wednesday evening testimony meeting a few months before. I still remember that I was encouraged when I heard testimonies about the healing of all kinds of diseases; but the thing that impressed me most was that although these people expressed gratitude for the physical healing, they were more grateful for their increase in spiritual understanding. That night I decided that I must know more about their religion.
However, I did not pursue the subject until later when I became quite ill with some kind of fever and was under the care of the family doctor. Not receiving relief, I asked if I could have Christian Science treatment. A practitioner was called, and I was healed that same evening. I have never had a return of this condition and have depended on Science for healing ever since.
I began to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, and later I married a girl I met there. Through these happy years, our family has been protected from illness, discords in human relationship, economic depression, and other difficulties.
