A call on a new neighbor to borrow a cup of sugar for my mother resulted in my introduction to Christian Science. It was quite well known among the children in the vicinity that this woman and her husband, a quiet, happy couple, were Christian Scientists, and that they did not go to doctors.
With the cup of sugar in hand, I thanked our new friend. Then with boyish directness I asked, "What is Christian Science?" She smiled and explained that there was a Christian Science Sunday School which I could attend if I wished to learn about her religion. I inquired the address and also the time of the Sunday School; I attended it, and I never again went to a church of another denomination.
Since then, as a student of Science and a member of The Mother Church and of different branch churches at different times, I have had so many proofs of God's care and guidance that I can mention only a few of them here.
