AFFIRM WHAT IS TRUE, DENY WHAT IS FALSE

From the July 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We shall successfully overcome sickness and sin in proportion as we affirm what is true and understandingly deny what is false.

One who does not know what to affirm and what to deny is constantly at the mercy of conjecture. He is apt to affirm what he should deny, and deny what he should affirm. Only by having a dependable way of knowing what is true and what is false can one exercise control over his thoughts and so over his experience. Christian Science provides this dependable way. When our thinking is brought into conformity with the divine Principle and rules of this Science, our experience will show forth the freedom that is ours by divine right.

In providing the way to health and harmony, Science leads human thought out of the bondage which false education has imposed upon it. In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy states (pp. 226, 227), "I saw before me the awful conflict, the Red Sea and the wilderness; but I pressed on through faith in God, trusting Truth, the strong deliverer, to guide me into the land of Christian Science, where fetters fall and the rights of man are fully known and acknowledged."
