At one time I made daily trips to a doctor's office for treatments for a back condition that was very painful. There was no improvement; so a bone specialist was asked to see me. X-ray pictures were taken, and I was soon told that I had arthritis in an advanced stage in my spine and in other parts of my body. I was informed that I would never be free of this disease, but that a brace-like leather belt could be worn that would give me some comfort.
It was not long after this that I began an earnest study of Christian Science. I did not have specific treatment from a Christian Science practitioner for the arthritis, although I may have told the one who helped me in those early days about it, for I poured out to her a long list of ailments from which I believed I was suffering. I do not know when the disease left me; but a year or so later I realized that I was no longer troubled by it, and I could not remember when the suffering had stopped.
With the change of thought which took place, all the other ailments left me also. They included headaches, constipation, digestive trouble, and a nervous condition. I was healed of social drinking at that time, and marital discord was overcome. What a wonderful thing is Christian Science! These healings occurred several years ago, and since that time I have held with complete physical freedom positions that have kept me on my feet eight hours a day.
