From the November 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

How does one set about expressing his gratitude for a lifetime of Christian Science blessings? Such a lifetime has been mine. Over fifty years ago as a boy I had the good fortune to be introduced to this Science of Life by a devoted aunt who had experienced its blessings.

I had been reared in a home of good morals, but in which an understanding of God was lacking. Their observation of hypocrisy in some of the churches had kept my parents from affiliating with any of them. I was left free to form my own conclusions. My curiosity caused me to inquire about the reasons for life and our existence.

My aunt wisely explained to me the truths revealed in Christian Science and then asked me to reason these things out for myself and see if I could agree. She explained the difference between the world's view that matter exists as a reality and the statement on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy that "all is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." It would appear that I must make a choice. Which would it be?
