THE NATURALNESS OF GOOD

From the November 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science reveals the naturalness of good. Mankind, generally speaking, have accepted quite an opposite condition as natural. And so did Eliphaz, who, representing the view of human wisdom, sadly declared, "Man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward" (Job 5:7).

But through Science we can rejoice with the Psalmist in his inspired refrain (Ps. 107:8), "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" It is as if the Psalmist were saying, "Oh, that men would understand the naturalness of good!"

Our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, demonstrated the naturalness of God, good, whom he called Father, and from the certainty of his experience he assures us for all time (Luke 12:32), "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
