Many years ago I was profitably employed as a salesman in the liquor industry. One day, while working in the vicinity of my home, I decided to stop in for lunch, only to find one of my children in great distress. The doctor said there was an obstruction in one of the channels of the body, and he suggested taking the child to the hospital for observation and, if necessary, to have an operation.
My wife had been studying Christian Science only a short time and wished to have Christian Science treatment for the child. I remember objecting strenuously, but I did not care to have the child enter a hospital; so I agreed to drive my wife and the child to a practitioner's office.
Upon arrival, I handed the child to my wife and started to leave to wait in the car, but the practitioner invited me to stay. I do not remember all that was said, but she spoke of God and His love for all His children. The fear was allayed, and in less than ten minutes the child stopped crying and was free and happy. This occurred over twenty years ago, and there has been no return of the difficulty.
