About nineteen years ago, my husband was transferred to a large city where some relatives of mine lived. I soon learned that they were Christian Scientists. I was very much impressed by their actions. They were always well, happy, loving, and never spoke of diseases of any kind. I had not known of Christian Science until this time. I started to read the Christian Science Sentinel, and I especially liked the testimony section. I attended Christian Science church services and soon gave up my Sunday School class in another Protestant church and enrolled our two children in the Christian Science Sunday School, in which so much love and joy were being expressed.
I am indeed grateful for our Sunday Schools, where the children learn at a very early age the truths that heal and bless. When our son was only a few years old and a new pupil in the Sunday School, I overheard him say to his older sister, who had become somewhat fearful of sleeping in her room alone when the lights were out, "We must not forget that God protects us at all times."
A few days later he was playing with some children next door. They ran around the corner of the house into a long gravel driveway. A pickup truck was entering the drive at a high rate of speed. The other children stepped back into the flower bed in time, but our son was hit by the truck as he ran forward and was thrown backward for some distance. When the truck came to a stop, the front right wheel was between the boy's legs, only inches from his body. He was not hurt; not even a scratch could be found on him.
