HOW very much mankind needs a greater sense of tranquillity! In every human relationship, even in the privacy of our own thinking, tranquillity is much needed. Christian Science reveals that only Christlike thinking can ever bring to individual consciousness, and thus to human relationships, that peace which the Bible refers to as passing "all understanding" (Phil. 4:7).
What a comfort it is to realize that the real, spiritual man is at peace with himself, with God, and with every other individual! Every aspect of his being is governed by God, divine Principle, Love. Every thought he perceives, every action he exhibits, has its source in God and never leaves God; it has its being within God's allness as the indispensable evidence of His presence. God forms and controls His reflection, man, and imbues him with peace and joy.
That we do not more readily, or more consistently, see ourselves and others as under God's control cannot change the fact of God's harmonious government; it simply indicates our continued participation in some measure in the Adam-dream, that state of belief in which so-called mortal man sees himself as shut out from the presence of God. Christian Science, however, reveals that man can no more be separated from God than thought can have entity separate from consciousness. God's man forever dwells within His presence, inseparable from Him.
