ONE of the more comforting thoughts that an individual can have is that God, divine Love, is present everywhere— wherever one may be—and that Love is the all-powerful divine Mind which guides and protects him in his every endeavor. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 473): "The God-principle is omnipresent and omnipotent. God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power."
In our human experience we become aware of the presence of Love when we consistently erase our wrong concepts and replace them with loving thoughts for all mankind as well as for ourselves. We cannot perfectly love another while we devalue in the least our own true selfhood. We must learn to understand God's great ever-present love for each one of us and see that this is the divine pattern for loving. It is to this kind of love that Paul alluded in his Epistle to the Ephesians when he wrote (2:4, 5), "God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ."
The realization that God, the infinite Father-Mother, loves all His creation brings a radiance into our human experience. Filling the vastness of His entire universe, God tenderly cares for each blessed idea, and this includes our own sinless being. The child who has struggled to understand his parent's love or has felt the need of more human affection can turn to Christian Science and be healed of his sense of lack through such divine revelation. His recognition of Love as the only true parent and presence enables the child to look beyond the mistakes of the human parent and see the reality of divine parenthood; then the mortal picture will be erased from his thought and replaced by the truth.
