I am very grateful for Christian Science and for all that it has done for me and my family. I am grateful to know and to realize with conviction that man's intelligence is from God. Several years ago I was forced to prove this, and I should like to share the experience with you.
I was working in the Middle West for a large corporation engaged in the manufacture of glass-forming machines. We shipped these machines all over the United States and to forty-eight different countries. In 1951 it became necessary to manufacture one of our popular models in England, and I was given the job of coordinating and supervising the entire program from the manufacturing of patterns, tools, and parts to the assembling and testing of the first machine. We did not set up a plant in England but chose to have the work done by the largest machine manufacturer in that country.
When I was on the plane on my way to England, I wondered why I had been given this very difficult task. I felt I was not qualified to do the job. This particular machine was designed long before I went to work for the company, and I had not had the experience necessary to do all that was required in the allotted time of five months.
