Until four years ago I did not really know what Christian Science was or what it taught. Now I can say with joy and appreciation that I am a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church.
At the beginning of the intervening years I had the glorious experience of reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, for the first time, and by the time I had finished it I had had my first healing in Christian Science. An infection on my arm, which months of material remedies had failed to cure, had completely disappeared and has never returned. I am grateful that by my own acceptance and study of Christian Science, I have been able to demonstrate the power of divine Love to protect from illness as well as to heal.
But the greatest progress came when a series of difficult physical problems made it necessary for me to ask for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. There have been some severe trials, and I am grateful for them, because I have gained through the treatments and healings a greater and firmer understanding of God and my relationship to Him. Because of this growing understanding, today I have more peace and calm and know how to find release from tension and anxiety and to gain freedom from self-imposed worries and the deluding false sense of personal responsibility.
