WHAT is often called the population explosion presages the possibility of problems of supply which to many people may seem unsolvable despite unparalleled advances in the physical sciences toward their solution. But Christian Science, the Science of God's allness and His infinite provision for man, affords the spiritual solution, and in the degree that this Science is understood, humanity will have abundant supply for all its needs.
In the first century Christ Jesus healed all who were diseased among five thousand men, besides women and children, who had followed him to a desert place. Then at evening they were hungry; so he bade the disciples make them sit down, and "looking up to heaven" (Luke 9:16) he fed them amply though only five loaves and two fishes were humanly available. The scientific, spiritual understanding of God, when utilized as the Saviour taught men to utilize it, will eventually abolish famine, disease, lack, and limitation of every kind.
"He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways" (Ps. 91:11). In an article called "Angels," Mrs. Eddy, after quoting the clause in the foregoing Scripture, declares (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies." Then, refuting materialistic logic and its fears for the future, she adds, "Never ask for tomorrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment."
