My first healing in Christian Science was that of a chronic bowel disorder which had troubled me since childhood. I had had an operation for another condition and the bowel difficulty; but the latter returned within a year after the operation, and I was in constant pain. My husband was told by a surgeon that unless another operation was performed, I might live only a few weeks and that childbirth was out of the question. After I turned to Christian Science, the disorder was healed completely at the first visit of a practitioner.
After we had attended a Christian Science branch church for a year and had regularly studied the Lesson-Sermon, found in the Quarterly, all fear was removed from my thinking, and we were later blessed with a fine, healthy baby girl and several years later with a boy, who was also normal in every way. We were grateful to be able to enroll our two children in a Christian Science Sunday School at an early age.
A later healing was that of a broken leg and injured ankle bones. The practitioner was very kind as she encouraged my husband and me to be obedient to the truths taught in Christian Science. The bones set perfectly, and I was able to resume my normal activities in just a few weeks.
