I am more grateful every day that we have the teachings of Christian Science in our home to study and to apply in our experience. There was a period in my life when I did not appreciate this fact. While in my teens, I resented the thought of being different from those with whom I associated, and I became antagonistic and rebellious toward the only religion I had ever known.
It was not until after I had married and our first child was about three months of age that I came to acknowledge a need of the truths I had been taught in Sunday School.
The new baby was troubled by many difficulties, and nothing we had done for him had helped. He was unable to adjust to anything harmoniously and was quite unhappy, as were we. He was constipated, had difficulty retaining his food, was bothered with a skin rash, rested very little, and cried much. Although I knew a local practitioner, I chose to write a letter to her, rather than call her, explaining our situation and asking if she would help us through Christian Science. This she did, and everything cleared up beautifully.
