Testimonies of Healing

From the August 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words seem inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for Mrs. Eddy, to whose inspired thought was revealed the scientific significance of Christ Jesus' words and works and to whose selfless devotion and love for mankind we owe the Christian Science textbook, as well as her other writings, and the establishment of the Christian Science movement.

My wife and I were in Malaya when we sent to The Christian Science Publishing Society for the textbook. Some four years later, while on leave in England, we placed it in the hands of my father, who, suffering from a malignant disease, was unable to retain food of any sort and was given by his doctor only two or three weeks to live. With my father's consent, the doctor was dismissed and a Christian Science practitioner was called in. After a single treatment, the patient rose from his bed, came downstairs, and took supper with the family. The healing was immediate and complete. There was no return of the trouble, and my father remained with us for many happy, healthy years as a student of Christian Science.

I have had several healings in Science, each bringing a grateful measure of spiritual advancement. Some, especially during my earlier study, have been practically instantaneous.
