With deep gratitude I can testify that I owe to Christian Science all I have today or have ever known of joy, satisfaction, and abundant health. Doctors attendant at my birth predicted that I would live a year at most and that if I did live longer, I would always be weak and sickly.
I was indeed sickly for the first two years or so of my life. But my mother had begun the study of Christian Science and was healed of a disease doctors had pronounced incurable. By the time I was about three years old I was a normal, healthy child. No medical treatment of any kind was given me; my healing was entirely the result of my mother's prayers and study of the textbook by Mrs. Eddy.
Though I experienced almost no so-called children's diseases, on one occasion, when I was still young, I was seriously ill and had been delirious and had had a high fever for several days. I was healed completely within a half hour when it was uncovered that a member of the family had believed medical aid was necessary, even though my mother was praying for me in Christian Science and the member was assured of the efficacy of treatment in Science. During the many years since that time I have remained in excellent health with an abundant measure of strength and vitality.
