"The reverse of error is true"

From the December 1967 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If humanity today would accept and practice the simple but profound instruction of the Master, Christ Jesus, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you," Matt. 6:33; human experience would be vastly improved. Actually, everyone wishes to better his experience. However, because its basis of evaluation is usually founded upon material sense testimony which bespeaks limitation, sin, sickness, and death, humanity has achieved little success in eliminating these and other evils, including hatred, confusion, and chaos. Humanity is too impressed, too easily convinced by limited and false material sense testimony, and is therefore too inclined to accept that testimony and be conditioned by it.

In world experience today there is a strong tendency to accept evil as real. It is common practice for people to believe that disease, gangsterism, political conniving, or selfishly motivated actions can govern men and injure or bring about evil; and as a result of such thinking many people are finding limitation and inharmony in their lives. This need not be the case.

Christian Science is reversing false evidence and unhappy experience. Through its textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, this Science is helping people find health, harmony, happiness, and well-being by emphasizing and explaining the teachings of Christ Jesus. These teachings tell of divine Love's protection and the allness of God, of which the Master was so keenly aware. This knowledge enabled Jesus constantly to reject evil as unreal and without power. He was constantly seeking first the kingdom of God, which he knew in reality to be the only true kingdom, the kingdom of which all may know. Why should not humanity today do the same as he did?
