Receiving the True Information

From the March 1967 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Where does true information come from? The Father-Mother God is all-knowing, ever-active Mind; therefore information from Him is ever available. God is ever imparting, can never stop imparting, for God, ever-active Life, is infinite Love. God is ever imparting the true idea of everything, the spiritual facts of being. And it is wonderful to realize that man, our true self, is always embodying the unlimited good, the perfect harmony of being, that God is imparting.

As we dwell upon the fact that Love, or Mind, is ever imparting the perfect sense of being, we open the door of our thought to receive true information and thus know what is going on in reality. And if there is a problem—something troubling us—it will be solved as we let into our consciousness the true sense of being, which Mind is ever imparting.

We seem to receive information from the material body; it tells a mortal mostly of discord. But matter is not intelligent; therefore the material body cannot actually convey information to us. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Any supposed information, coming from the body or from inert matter as if either were intelligent, is an illusion of mortal mind,—one of its dreams." Science and Health, pp. 385, 386; Again she writes: "The cause of all so-called disease is mental, a mortal fear, a mistaken belief or conviction of the necessity and power of ill-health; also a fear that Mind is helpless to defend the life of man and incompetent to control it. Without this ignorant human belief, any circumstance is of itself powerless to produce suffering." p. 377;
