Forgetting the Former Things

From the March 1967 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Man, God's spiritual idea, is forever conscious of the substance and activity of Mind, Truth, and Love. He always has been and always will be the full representative of divine reality. He expresses the uninterruptible impartations of Mind. According to Christian Science, whatever mortals believe took place yesterday, last night, this morning, a month or a year ago in matter—the opposite of God, Spirit— is mesmeric suggestion, which keeps people from being mindful of spiritual realities.

God said through the great prophet Isaiah, "Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind." Isa. 65:17; In reality there are no former experiences in matter. The eternal nowness of Mind's activities witnesses the timelessness of God's omnipresence and man's spiritual coexistence with his Maker.

Mrs. Eddy affirms, "We own no past, no future, we possess only now." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 12; In Mind's ceaseless unfoldment man lives in the kingdom of heaven, mindful only of spiritual realities, the glories of God's creation.
