RESURRECTION

From the March 1967 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Rabboni . . . Master." Grief, despair, and doubt were
          swept away,
As Mary Magdalene beheld the risen Christ
          that day.
The cross, the crown of thorns, and fainting form,
          the silent tomb,
Became a dream. She, first to see this glory,
          wrought from gloom.
Death vanquished. Here, the wondrous proof
          of immortality!
"Father, forgive them." Love alone could claim
          such victory.
Did she perceive the true idea, life and
          substance found
As Spirit's perfect, pure reflection, never
          by flesh bound?
When healing comes, all doubt dispelled through hope
          and faith newborn,
We share the wonder Mary knew that
          resurrection morn.
