Our Leader and the Light of the Christ

From the April 1967 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A question that frequently comes to students of Christian Science is, "What is our Leader's place in world thought?" The recognition of the spiritual characteristics of Mrs. Eddy's life brings a more practicable understanding of her discovery of Christian Science and of the Christly nature of its healing light. Of equal importance is the understanding of her untiring foundational work, which established this spiritual Science and made available its healing efficacy to mankind through her writings, her Church, and the Christian Science periodicals.

Christian Science leads thought to unfailing, divine Principle, which when scientifically applied brings convincing results in healing. Through these healing effects, one becomes a natural participant in the demonstration of the light of scientific thought that overturns and destroys false material beliefs. The light of the Christ reaches into the dark cloisters of human consciousness, uncovers false beliefs and mistaken theories, and reveals immortal existence instead of the existence of finite sense.

The correct view of Mrs. Eddy is to be found in her works and writings or wherever her revelation of the healing Christ, the divine ideal, is demonstrated. Many Christian Scientists have learned that to have a comprehension of Mrs. Eddy's place in the ever-advancing light of the Christ helps to bring healing.
