While I was a young girl in my teens, I suffered from an internal disorder which caused hemorrhaging at frequent intervals. I became seriously interested in Christian Science, enrolled in the Sunday School, and experienced several quick, clear-cut healings of colds, toothache, and so on. It then occurred to me that I could be healed of the internal disorder through the application of Science. I asked a practitioner to help me. I was able to continue my daily activity as a soda fountain clerk in a drugstore, standing on my feet more than eight hours a day. I gained in strength, studied the Lesson-Sermons found in the Quarterly, and read the Christian Science Sentinel, but the condition was not healed in the next few months. The practitioner asked me to see a teacher of Christian Science in our city. I was instantaneously healed after an appointment with him. I then joined The Mother Church and a branch church. I married and experienced a complete change in my environment and friendships.
About three years ago I hemorrhaged for several weeks. I was not too concerned, since I knew Christian Science could heal me. My thought was uplifted because I had just returned from my first visit to Boston, where I had the privilege of staying at the Christian Science Benevolent Association, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and attending meetings at The Mother Church. One Saturday morning I went to a Christian Science lecture. In the course of his lecture, the speaker quoted from the Bible (Prov. 26:2), "The curse causeless shall not come." I caught a glimpse of man's relationship to God and was instantaneously healed. Since then all organs have functioned normally.
Some other healings that I have experienced are those of so-called children's diseases, inflammatory rheumatism, a crushed foot, and smoking. And employment and companionship have been found through demonstration of the truths of Science. An early marriage presented many problems, but Christian Science has guided us all the way. My husband consented to try my religion, and then joined The Mother Church as soon as possible. All our problems have been worked out in Christian Science.
