Our day is not just a measure of time taking us closer to a grave. Rather it is the continual unfoldment of Life and Love taking us nearer to immortality. However contrary to mortal thinking this may be, it is still true, for actually we live in the ever-present continuity of eternal Life. Christian Science teaches us that each day is a new opportunity for us to demonstrate understandingly more of the omnipresence and omnipotence of perfect being.
Opportunity is an opening for thinking and doing good. Since God is All-in-all, our opportunity is where God is, right here, right now. We need not look to the future or some far-off place, hoping there or then to come into the presence of God, for in the words of Christ Jesus, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."Luke 17: 20, 21;
Through the study of this Science we become familiar with the only proper condition of existence, which is righteousness, health, joy, and peace. This perfect condition is wholly spiritual, the kingdom of God, which Jesus spoke of, and each one, as he recognizes himself to be the child of God, Spirit, has the opportunity and the right to this kingdom.
