Did faithful Abraham ask why?
He simply answered, "Here am I!"
No time he wasted to decide,
Nor, like Adam, did he hide.
Awaiting his commander's voice,
Abraham had made his choice
To obey the God he knew,
Like a soldier brave and true.
Moses, too, had answered right,
As the nearby bush burned bright,
"Here am I," and saw the doubt,
Fear, and ignorance cast out.
"Here am I" each one may say
In preparation for the day,
That he will hear the next command,
Which leads on to the promised land.
