I have enjoyed the blessings of Christian Science all my life. With an increasing understanding of my spiritual birthright as a child of God has come increased gratitude for the precious inheritance I received from my parents—Christian Science.
I look back on my childhood and teenage years as very happy ones, seldom marred by physical or emotional problems. I am grateful, too, for a husband who shares the same spiritual outlook. Many times his ability to behold the perfection of man in God's likeness has healed sin or sickness in our home. We are blessed with six lively children, whose births were in every case quick and harmonious. All but the first were born at home.
When one of our sons was one month old, he suddenly became unable to retain his food. The situation appeared alarming because blood clots were present in the milk he spit up. I immediately turned to God in prayer, but the condition did not yield. The thought came that I should call for more experienced help from a Christian Science practitioner. However, a more persistent intuition told me there was something I needed to learn through working out this problem myself.
