In Germany: A church of their own

How did Christian Scientists in Mannheim, Germany, manage to get such a beautiful church edifice of their own?

It has long been a practice for many branch churches in Europe to rent rooms in other buildings, or even to rent other churches for several hours each week. This has worked well for some, but others have felt that Christian Science needs a solid sense of identity in the community to show everyone that Christian Science is here to stay.
